Lisa Bell Clinical Psychologist

Frequently Asked Questions
Fees and Rebates
Our fees are guided by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Schedule of Recommended Fees. Our practice does not offer bulk billing. Payment in full is required on the day of the consultation via debit or credit card.

As of 1st April 2025, individual sessions are approximately 50 minutes in duration and are charged at $250 per session.

Medicare

A referral is not required, however, to access the Medicare rebate for Clinical Psychology services, you must obtain a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your general practitioner (GP) or medical specialist. The Medicare rebate for Clinical Psychology, as of 1st July 2025, is $145.25, leaving an out-of-pocket fee of $104.75 per session.
Currently, the Medicare rebate is available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Private Health

If you have private health insurance, your policy may cover a portion of the fee. Please contact your provider for details. You cannot claim both Medicare and a Private health rebate for the same session. I recommend contacting your private health provider for information on psychology rebates.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. The following cancellation policy is in place so that the appointment time may be offered to another person in need.
A 50% cancellation fee will occur for cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment time. If you do not attend your appointment and do not provide notice of cancellation the full session fee will be charged.
It is understandable that sometimes sudden unexpected illness or personal emergencies occur. If this is the case, please contact Lisa as soon as possible to discuss.
